Abstract
Kaj je tisto kar me je pred desetimi leti pritegnilo k ustvarjanju animiranih filmov? Tako me v magistrskem delu zanima predvsem, kakšna sta danes, v poplavi digitalno ustvarjenih podob, vloga in položaj tradicionalnih tehnik animacije.

Title:The position of traditional techniques of animation in the time of developement of digital technologies / New world, new trace
Abstract:
What attracted me to making animated films ten years ago? For me, this is the magic of animation and its ability to bring the inanimate around us to life. How much of this magic has been preserved with the development of digital animation techniques, with the help of which today we create spectacular and completely virtual worlds that no longer have contact with the real world. With the development of digital technologies, the definition of an animated film has changed, which today no longer needs to be produced 'frame by frame', but can be produced faster and easier than ever before. With the help of digital technologies, we create increasingly realistic and stunning virtual worlds. I wonder if one of the main purposes of animation is simply the complete immersion of the viewer in a virtually created world. Despite all that digital technologies can offer, traditional animation techniques are still preserved today, just as with their materiality we somehow maintain contact with reality. So, in my master's thesis, I am mainly interested in the role and position of traditional animation techniques today, in the flood of digitally created images. I also decided to use the traditional technique, namely the stop-motion recording technique, in the practical part of my master's thesis. I think this technique is the most suitable for the ecological theme that my animated film will deal with.
