Abstract
V tem obdobju so nam nudili uteho in razlog, zakaj smo zapustili naše stanovanje.

Title:
Four legged furballs for in between four walls
Abstract:
The period of COVID ̶ 19 restrictions was truly a different time. Our daily lives fell apart or got completely transformed and we all found ourselves in a new unknown world. Restricted movement, limited contact with others and general feeling of unease about what is going on what and what tomorrow will bring, caused many mental health issues. The general crisis that was happening also brought upon many financial problems for some. It was a period of isolation and crisis. In the weeks after the announcement of the pandemic we have formed a new daily life in this new unfamiliar world. With restrictions on movement and contact with others many people were stuck at home and felt cut off. Something that forces us to move and gives us companionship are dogs, so interest in owning a dog spiked. If you had a dog you were allowed on walks during curfew, because it was deemed a necessary task. The dog’s demands helped form routines. When our habits were non-existent and most of our responsibilities moved online, dogs helped with with their support and forcing us outside. Dog or man’s best friend has been a companion for about 14.000 years. Their role in the life of humans has changed through time, from work animals to pets or members of the family. So, in the time of COVID ̶ 19 their role has also changed like the roles of many things in our lives. In this period, they offered us support and were a reason to leave the house. The author believes that in the time of quarantine dog ownership presented many benefits for the owner, like companionship and a feeling of control in everyday life. That is why this paper is centred on the role of dogs during COVID ̶ 19 restrictions and their connection to wellbeing and the general human-dog relation.
