Abstract
V okviru diplomske naloge smo raziskovali evropski satelitski sistem za izboljšanje navigacije EGNOS, ki je v Evropi v zadnjih letih postal temeljni pomožni sistem za navigacijo v letalstvu, vse bolj pa se uveljavlja tudi za potrebe pozicioniranja in navigacije na drugih področjih, kot sta pomorstvo in kmetijstvo. Preko dokumentov o opredelitvi storitve (angl. Service Definition Documents – SDD) smo raziskali delovanje sistema, osnovno arhitekturo in značilnosti posameznih segmentov ter opisali različna področja uporabe. V praktičnem delu naloge smo izvedli tri neodvisne meritve, s katerimi smo podrobneje raziskali uporabo sistema v različnih pogojih izmere. Izvedli smo statično meritev z geodetskimi sprejemniki Leica GS15 v idealnih pogojih izmere, statično meritev z nizkocenovnimi sprejemniki u-blox ZED-F9P ter kinematično meritev, katere trasa je potekala v okolici Fakultete za gradbeništvo in geodezijo v Ljubljani. S pomočjo programskega orodja MATLAB® smo analizirali natančnost in točnost vseh pridobljenih koordinat ter interpretirali kakovost pridobljenih rezultatov glede na potrebe področij, na katerih se sistem trenutno uporablja. Na osnovi ugotovitev in rezultatov smo v zaključku naloge kritično ovrednotili uporabo sistema v operacijah, povezanih s kritično infrastrukturo ali varnostjo ljudi, ter izpostavili izzive, ki čakajo sistem v prihodnosti.

Title:Utilizing EGNOS for Positioning in Diverse Conditions
Abstract:
This thesis investigates the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), which has become a fundamental augmentation system for aviation navigation in Europe in recent years and is increasingly being utilized for positioning and navigation in other fields, such as maritime and agriculture. Through the Service Definition Documents (SDD), we explored the system's functionality, basic architecture, and the characteristics of individual segments, and outlined its main areas of application. In the practical part of the thesis, we conducted three independent measurements to examine the system's performance under different surveying conditions. We carried out a static measurement with geodetic instruments under ideal conditions, a static measurement using low-cost u-blox ZED-F9P receivers, and a kinematic measurement along a route around the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering in Ljubljana. Using the MATLAB® software tool, we analyzed the accuracy and precision of all obtained coordinates and interpreted the quality of the results based on the requirements of the fields in which the system is currently applied. Based on the findings and results, we critically evaluated the use of the system in operations related to critical infrastructure or human safety and highlighted the challenges the system will face in the future.
