The thesis deals with Rajhenburg Castle in the pre-Romanesque and Romanesque era, with the Romanesque castle chapel in the center of attention. To facilitate the understanding of the discussed topic, the historical circumstances of Rajhenburg Castle are first presented, followed by the building history of the entire castle complex. A special chapter is dedicated to the Romanesque castle chapel, where at first the general function and the very meaning of the Castle Chapel in the Middle Ages is presented, followed by an analysis of the architectural condition of the Romanesque castle chapel before its complete renovation, which was carried out in 2011 and 2012, and the condition after it. The discovery of the chapel in 1979 took researchers by surprise; due to the poor preservation of the original Romanesque elements, it was difficult to judge how the chapel originally looked like. As a result, during the reconstruction of the chapel, they relied heavily on analogies with other monuments, domestic and foreign, situated in a similar cultural and historical environment.
Since the reconstruction of the chapel was mainly based on analogies with other monuments, the work also offers some comparisons with similar domestic and foreign monuments.
