Analiza skladnosti trajnostnega gospodarjenja v zasebnih gozdovih Slovenije z merili in podmerili regijske certifikacije gozdov PEFC

Merila certifikacijske sheme PEFC temeljijo na zahtevah, ki jih morajo izpolnjevati nosilci certifikata, s čimer se zagotavlja trajnostno gospodarjenje z gozdovi. V diplomskem delu smo s pomočjo pregleda zapisnikov o kontroli skladnosti izvajanja zahtev trajnostnega gospodarjenja z gozdovi na regijski ravni z določili slovenske sheme za certifikacijo gozdov PEFC želeli izvedeti, ali zasebni lastniki gozdov v svojih gozdovih gospodarijo skladno z omenjenimi merili. Prav tako smo želeli ugotoviti, pri katerih merilih so bila ugotovljena neskladja in kakšen je trend neskladij od leta 2012 do 2021. S pomočjo zbranih podatkov smo ugotovili, da je delež zasebnih lastnikov gozdov, pri katerih so bila ugotovljena neskladja, z leti upadel, največ neskladij je bilo ugotovljenih znotraj II. merila »Ohranjanje zdravja in vitalnosti gozdnih ekosistemov«. Poleg tega smo ugotovili, da se še vedno več zasebnih lastnikov gozdov odloči ostati vključenih v regijsko certifikacijo gozdov po sistemu PEFC in morebitne ugotovljene neskladnosti odpravijo pravočasno. To kaže tudi na njihovo zavezanost trajnostnemu gospodarjenju in priznavanje koristi, ki jih prinaša certifikacija.

• Title: Analysis of the compliance of sustainable management in private forests of Slovenia with the criteria and sub-criteria of regional forest certification PEFC

Abstract

The criteria of the PEFC certification scheme include requirements that ensure sustainable forest management. In our thesis, by reviewing the records on compliance control of the implementation of sustainable forest management requirements at the regional level according to the provisions of the Slovenian Forest Certification Scheme PEFC, we aimed to determine whether private forest owners manage their forests according to these criteria. We also aimed to identify the criteria where non-compliance was found and to analyze the trend of non-compliance from 2012 to 2021. Based on the collected data, we found that the proportion of private owners with identified non-compliances has decreased over the years. Most non-compliances were identified within criteria II: " Maintenance of forest ecosystem health and vitality." Additionally, we found that more owners are choosing to remain involved in regional forest certification under the PEFC system and are addressing any identified non-compliances in a timely manner. This also indicates their commitment to sustainable management and recognition of the benefits brought by certification.
