Ročno knjigoveštvo v knjigah umetnika in zinih : diplomsko delo

V diplomskem delu sem raziskovala medija knjige umetnika in zina z vidika likovne forme, pri čemer sem se osredotočila na preučevanje povezave s področjem knjigoveštva. Raziskovala sem prisotnost ročnih knjižnih vezav v zinih in knjigah umetnika, vključenih v izbrane zbirke umetniških publikacij. V teoretičnem delu naloge sem na kratko orisala zgodovino knjige in predstavila osnovne oblikovne značilnosti knjige. Navezala sem se na področje ročnega knjigoveštva in predstavila osnovne ročne knjigoveške postopke, pri čemer sem izpostavila pogoste ročne vezave. Na kratko sem predstavila medija knjige umetnika in zine ter izpostavila nekaj zbirk v slovenskem prostoru, ki hranijo umetniške publikacije. V raziskovalnem delu sem si ogledala knjige umetnika in zine, zbrane v treh izbranih zbirkah umetniških publikacij. Preučila sem, katere ročne knjižne vezave najdemo v knjigah umetnika in zinih. O povezavi področja knjigoveštva z obema medijema sem se pogovarjala s tremi intervjuvanci, ki delujejo na področju knjige umetnika oziroma zina kot ustvarjalci, zbiratelji ali kustosi. V okviru likovno – praktičnega dela diplomske naloge sem izdelala svojo knjigo umetnika, pri kateri sem posebno pozornost namenila knjižni vezavi. Poleg končnega izdelka sem predstavila še postopek izdelave s poudarkom na knjigoveških postopkih, ki sem jih uporabila.

• Title: Hand bookbinding of artist books and zines

Abstract

The diploma thesis explores the media of artist's book and zine from the perspective of art form, focusing on the connection between the media and the field of bookbinding. It investigates the presence of hand bookbindings in zines and artist's books included in some collections of artists' publications. The theoretical part outlines the history of the book and presentes the basic design features of the book media. It presents the basic hand bookbinding processes, focusing on the most common hand book bindings. It briefly discuses artist's books and zines, and presents some of the collections of artist's publications in Slovenia. The next section presents the research of artist's books and zines, collected in three selected collections of art publications. The research focuses on different hand bookbindings, which are present in the artist's books and zines. It also presents three intervviews with creators, collectors or curators, working in the field of artist's books and zines. The interviews discuss the presence and importance of bookbinding in the field of art publication. In the last section of the diploma thesis I present my own artist's book. The presentation is focused on the process of making the artist book, in which I paid special attention to hand bookbinding practice.
