Abstract
Posamezniki imajo različne potrebe glede socialne opore, čemur botrujejo posameznikove osebnostne lastnosti, pretekle izkušnje in dotične situacije, s katerimi se posamezniki srečujejo v vsakdanjem življenju.

Title:The role or social support among psychotherapy participants
Abstract:
In today's fast-paced life, individuals face numerous pressures, increasing the need for social support. Social support is a concept that many authors have researched and its impact on individuals' mental well-being has been demonstrated through various studies. In our thesis, we examine the connection between social support and the psychotherapy process, for which the need often arises due to insufficient or inadequate social support. Individuals have different needs for social support, influenced by their personality traits, past experiences, and specific situations they encounter in daily life. Stressful situations experienced by individuals affect their mental well-being, and it turns out that interpersonal relationships can be both a source of support and stress. The purpose of the thesis is to explore the role of social support in the decision to undergo psychotherapy and during the psychotherapy process, as well as the impact psychotherapy has on individuals' interpersonal relationships. We attempted to answer these research questions through interviews conducted with individuals currently undergoing psychotherapy.
