Abstract

Title:
Tribological properties of thermosets in water lubricated conditions
Abstract:
Thermosets are increasingly replacing metals in a wide range of engineering applications, resulting in a growing number of sliding contacts between them. In the master's thesis, we focused on analysing the tribological properties of six material pairs under water-lubricated conditions. Tests were conducted in a pin-on-disk configuration at three loads and two sliding speeds, evaluating friction and wear. Using scanning electron microscopy, we identified wear mechanisms. We demonstrated the influence of material composition on tribological behaviour and provided guidelines for selecting material combinations in water-lubricated applications.
