Abstract
V tem diplomskem delu bom predstavil materiale z visoko entropijo, kamor sodijo zlitine z visoko entropijo, ter njihovo potencialno uporabo za katalizo reakcij. Pri večini tradicionalnih zlitin je ena komponenta v številčnem presežku in gradi matriko, drugi elementi pa so vgrajeni znotraj te kristalne mreže. Pri materialih z visoko entropijo pa je kristalna mreža sestavljena iz vsaj petih različnih elementov, ki so zastopani v približno ekvimolarnem razmerju. Ti materiali so še posebej zanimivi za katalizo, zaradi širokega spektra elementarnih konfiguracij, ki jih lahko prilagodimo potrebam reakcije. Osredotočil se bom na strukturo materialov in kako struktura vpliva na uspešnost katalize. Prav tako bom raziskal, kako je mogoče napovedati lastnosti teh materialov, različne tehnike sinteze, ter nekaj reakcij, kjer bi materiale z visoko entropijo lahko uporabili kot katalizatorje.

Title:Catalysts based on high-entropy materials
Abstract:
In my diploma work I will present materials with high entropy, including high-entropy alloys, and their potential application for catalyzing reactions. In most traditional alloys, one component is in numerical excess and forms the matrix, while the other elements are embedded within this crystal lattice. However, in high-entropy materials, there is a crystal lattice consisting of at least five different elements, represented in approximately equimolar ratios. These materials are particularly interesting for catalysis due to the wide range of elemental configurations that can be tailored to meet the needs of the reaction. I will focus on the structure of these materials and how structure influences catalytic performance. Additionally, I will explore how to predict the properties of these materials, various synthesis techniques, and some reactions where they could be used as catalysts.
