The aim is to design an author's collection inspired by old photographs from my childhood and to include various sustainable approaches. The chapter on the child's stimulating environment and his further development into a creative adult, is discussed.
The theoretical part covers the importance of play in childhood, how it helps to develop creativity and imagination, and how it affects further physical and mental development. It generally represents how childhood is depicted in contemporary fashion. The following is an introduction to wool, its history, dyeing and felting (the oldest wool processing). Fashion and textile designers who have used wool or felting techniques in their designs are discussed. The last part of the theoretical part is an introduction to digital printing and how it has been used in contemporary fashion.
In the creative part, a collection of clothes and fashion accessories is presented, which was created by combining different memories from my childhood (photographs, woolen striped sweaters, flowers). It presents the dyeing of sheep's wool with acid dyes, felting, the transformation of children's clothing, the production of a textile pattern (printed using a digital printer) and the technique of machine knitting.
