Abstract

Title:Observation of interaction between active nucleation sites during boiling using optical tweezers
Abstract:
In this thesis, we examine the interactions between active nucleation sites during subcooled boiling of the dielectric fluid FC-72 at atmospheric pressure, focusing on distances between nucleation sites (30, 60, 90, 120, and 200 μm). The emphasis is on the impact of the distance between active nucleation sites and the formation of coalescence. An optical tweezer was used for heating and creating nucleation sites across the heating surface. We found that the distance influences the interactions and identified an interval estimate for the minimum distance between two nucleation sites where two bubbles do not form.
