Abstract
Kakovost slik smo ocenjevali glede na popačenja zaradi fizičnih premikov, dihanja in pulziranja žil, splošno kakovost slike in prisotnost dvojnih kontur. Ocene so podali štirje izkušeni radiološki inženirji. Ugotovili smo, da so slike z MultiVane tehniko manj obremenjene z artefakti gibanja, bolj pregledne in omogočajo natančnejšo vizualizacijo anatomskih struktur. Naši rezultati jasno podpirajo uporabo MultiVane tehnike za izboljšanje kakovosti MR slik in zmanjšanje artefaktov gibanja, kar lahko prispeva k boljši diagnostiki ramenskih patologij.

Title:Comparison of magnetic resonance arthrography of the shoulder with and without MultiVane technique : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: The MultiVane technique is an innovative method that uses radial sampling to reduce motion artifacts and improve image quality in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This technique is particularly useful in shoulder MR arthrography, where physiological movements are often present and can affect image quality. Shoulder MR arthrography is a specialized method for evaluating shoulder structures that requires high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to compare the T1 SPIR pulse sequence in the transverse plane without and with the use of the MultiVane technique in shoulder arthrography. The aim of the thesis is also to determine the difference in distortion due to physiological movements in imaging without and with the use of the MultiVane technique. Methods: In a retrospective study, we analysed MR images of 50 patients, divided into two groups. The first group was imaged without the use of the MultiVane technique, while the second group was imaged with its use. The quality of the images was evaluated based on distortions due to physical movements, breathing, and vascular pulsation, overall image quality, and the presence of double contours. Four experienced radiologic engineers provided the evaluations. Statistical analyses were used to compare the results between the groups. Results: The first part shows the distribution of data in k-space in images with and without the use of the MultiVane technique. The second part includes statistical analysis assessing the differences between the groups. Discussion and conclusion: The research results showed that the MultiVane technique significantly improves the quality of MR images in shoulder arthrography. Images obtained using the MultiVane technique achieved higher ratings in all measured criteria, confirming the technique's effectiveness. We found that images with the MultiVane technique are less affected by motion artifacts, clearer, and allow for more accurate visualization of anatomical structures. Our results clearly support the use of the MultiVane technique to improve MR image quality and reduce motion artifacts, which can contribute to better diagnosis of shoulder pathologies.
