Abstract

Title:Statics and dynamic analysis of catenary systems
Abstract:
In final thesis the usage of Finite difference method and Absolute nodal coordinate formulation for numerical analysis of overhead power line sag and its dynamics is presented. In theoretical introduction the shape of the catenary and cables own dynamics are presented. In methodology the description and application of numerical methods for our own case is described. The Absolute nodal coordinate formulation method seems to be very useful in the field of symulating overhead power lines, because of its precision, ability to simulate large deformations and option to properly define external forces like wind and ice.

Keywords:catenary sag, dynamics of overhead power lines, absolute nodal coordinate formulation, finite difference method, own frequency, vibrations
