Abstract

Abstract:
The aim of this graduation thesis is to study possible (or necessary) measures that may (or should) be taken in order to manage traffic regime on th eforest roads according to the national legislation. Economic principles and ecology should be taken into consideration. In addition, any of the interests of the social entities can play a role in decision-making - this is due to strongly expressed principles of multipurposeness in Slovenian forestry. One of the reasons for the need to restrict the use of the forest roads could be increment of the traffic loads. However, as study clearly shows the general traffic increase, it also shows that traffic increase may be significantly lower in rural areas and we were unable to tell if there is any increase of the traffic on the forest roads itself. Many aspects of planning restrictive measures on the forest roads (i. e. to put in place some gates or prohibitory traffic signs) were considered. The effort was taken to develop an objective assessment of measures, but that proved to be a difficult task. The correlation among forest function emphasis data and subjective determined locations of eventually enforced restrictive measures was sought for this purpose. The existence of before mentioned correlation was confirmed. However, the result is burdened with several unfavorable conditions, which calls it into question.
