Transition of CUDV Črna na Koroškem institution is the first transition of deinstitutionalization and normalization of an institution in Slovenia with a population that includes people whit intellectual disability. In my master's, I will specifically focus on the deinstitutionalization project of CUDV Črna na Koroškem. And, on the users and employees who are an indispensable part of this transit. The central goal of my master’s work is to research in detail the satisfaction of users with psychosocial support in the transition from institutionalized forms of care to community forms of care. Further I will investigate the support that the population received during the transition and which areas of support would make sense to strengthen and upgrade continuously in the residential group homes. Furthermore, I will define institutional care, community care, disorders in mental development, and needs of people whit mental disability from the point of view of social inclusion, the basic principles of normalization and deinstitutionalization, and the meanings and types of psychosocial support. Research shows (Thalen et al., 2021), that people with intellectual disabilities need more help with daily living skills and maintaining acquired skills. They need more help in integrating into the community and help in maintaining and establishing social contacts. Based on this, we need to adjust the frequency and pace of daily activities to match their abilities (Thalen et al., 2021). The experience of deinstitutionalization has shown that people which lived in institutional care can significantly benefit from high-quality services which enable people a higher level of personal satisfaction and social inclusion (Institute of Social Welfare of the Republic of Slovenia, 2023).
