Abstract

Title:Canopy frame made of aluminium alloys
Abstract:
The aim of this master's thesis is to design a carport frame made of aluminum alloys. The extrusion of aluminum alloys enables complex profile cross-sections that serve specific purposes. Throughout the thesis, we reviewed the specifics of designing with aluminum alloys, which differ from steel constructions due to their lower rigidity. The lower modulus of elasticity of aluminum alloys leads to larger profile deformations, increased susceptibility to buckling and, due to the lower yield strength, to faster occurrence of plastic deformations in the material. The design is based on calculations in accordance with the standards and the finite element method, in which we have also taken into account non-linear effects such as buckling.
