Abstract
V diplomski nalogi je obravnavan vpliv različnih žic in oplaščenj na rezanje karbidne trdnine z žično elektroerozijo. V poskusu diplomske naloge so pod enakimi pogoji v kratkem časovnem obdobju testirane štiri različne žice pri rezanju karbidne trdnine na stroju za žično elektroerozijsko obdelavo. Med rezanjem so bili merjeni časi in teže porabljene žice, da bi kasneje lahko preračunali proizvodno ekonomiko. Med rezanjem se je pokazalo, da četrta žica zelo slabo reže karbidno trdnino. Po obdelavi so bile izmerjene dimenzije, hrapavost površine, mikrotrdota in debelina bele plasti. Rezultati meritev so pokazali, da je obdelava z žico tri najhitrejša in daje najboljše dimenzije odrezanega kosa, kljub visoki ceni žice se je izkazalo, da je obdelava s to žico najcenejša. Žica ena je zagotovila zelo dobro hrapavost površine, žica dva pa je izdelala kos z najmanjšo debelino bele plasti. Podjetju bi bila priporočena uporaba žice tri, saj je najcenejša in se kosi z njo odrežejo najbolj natančno.

Title:Testing of different wires and coatings in wire electric discharge machining of carbide
Abstract:
The impact of different wires and coatings on cutting carbide hardness using wire EDM is examined in the thesis. In the study, four different wires were tested under the same conditions in a short period on a wire EDM machine for cutting carbide. During the cutting process, the time and weight of the consumed wire were measured to later calculate production economics. It was shown by the results that the fourth wire performed very poorly in cutting carbide. After the cutting process, dimensions, surface roughness, microhardness, and thickness of the white layer were measured. The measurements revealed that the third wire provided the fastest cutting and the best dimensions of the cut piece, making it the most cost-effective despite its high price. Excellent surface roughness resulted from the first wire, while the piece with the thinnest white layer was produced by the second wire. It is recommended that the company uses the third wire, as it is the most cost-effective and produces the most precise cuts.
