Abstract
Zaradi hitrega in stalnega razvoja industrije je potreba po novih materialih, ki prinašajo nove možnosti za izboljšave in razvoj vedno večja. Eden od teh materialov je kovinska pena. Kovinska pena se s svojo edinstveno strukturo razlikuje od konvencionalnih kovin in prinaša številne nove možnosti uporabe v različnih industrijah. V sklopu raziskav so bili izvedeni različni mehanski preizkusi na dveh aluminijastih penah z različnima gostotama. Predstavljena je kemijska sestava materiala in mikrostruktura. Prikazane so napake v materialu. Rezultati mehanskih poizkusov so pokazali, da je aluminijasta pena višje gostote bolj odporna na upogib, tlak, udarno žilavost in ima večjo trdoto, kot pena z nižjo gostoto.

Title:Effect of aluminum foam density on the mechanical properties
Abstract:
Due to the rapid and ongoing development of industry the demand for new materials that offer new possibilities for improvements and advancements is continually increasing. One such material is metal foam. Metal foam with its unique structure differs from conventional metals and brings numerous new opportunities for application across various industries. As part of the research, different mechanical tests were conducted on two aluminum foams with varying densities. The chemical composition and microstructure of the material were presented along with any defects found in the material. The results of the mechanical tests indicated that the higher-density aluminum foam is more resistant to bending, compression and impact toughness and has greater hardness compared to the lower-density foam.
