Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava nastanek in razvoj nizkocenovnih družb po celem svetu, a s poudarkom na evropskem prostoru. Nizkocenovne letalske družbe so pomemben akter v zagotavljanju potniškega zračnega prometa, saj so s cenami vozovnic, nižjimi od tradicionalnih letalskih družb omogočila letalska potovanja večjemu delu javnosti. V prvem delu naloge sta predstavljena razvoj in zgodovina nizkocenovnih letalskih družb po regijah sveta ter zakonske omejitve, ki so nastanek takih letalskih družb omejevale. V tem delu je predstavljena tudi statistika trenutno delujočih nizkocenovnih letalskih družb po regijah sveta. V naslednjem delu so predstavljene razlike v poslovanju tradicionalnih in nizkocenovnih letalskih družb, od same organizacije in specifik delovanja do primerjave finančnih ter statističnih podatkov. Prav tako sta v tem delu predstavljeni dve družini letal, ki sta tipični za nizkocenovne letalske družbe. Zadnji del diplomske naloge je posvečen prihodnosti nizkocenovnih letalskih družb in morebitni smeri njihovega razvoja.

Title:FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-COST AIRLINES
Abstract:
The thesis examines the formation and development of low-cost airlines around the world, with a focus on the European area. Low-cost airlines are an important player in the passenger air transport market, as their fares are lower than with traditional airlines and have therefore made air travel possible to a larger part of the public. The first part of this thesis presents the development and history of low-cost airlines in various regions of the world and the regulatory constraints that have limited their formation. This part also presents statistics of the currently operating low-cost airlines, according to the regions of the world they operate in. The following part presents the differences in the operations of traditional and low-cost airlines, including the organization of the operations themselves, the specifics of the operations and a comparison of the financial and statistical data. This part also presents two aircraft families that are typical of low-cost airlines. The final part of the thesis discusses the future of low-cost airlines and the possible directions in which such airlines could evolve.
