Abstract

Title:Postpartum self-image
Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the self-image of women after childbirth, focusing on the connection between identity and body self-image and the impact of social factors, such as beauty ideals and media influence, on the perception of one's own body. The aim of the study is to understand which factors affect the body self-image of mothers in the postpartum period and how media representations of ideal bodies influence their self-image. The research methodology includes a qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews with ten first-time mothers. Key findings indicate that mothers' body self-image is significantly shaped by both internal factors, such as physical changes after childbirth, as well as external factors, such as social and media pressures.
