FINANCING ISSUE IN A CHOSEN PUBLIC INSTITUTION
This work describes the way financing works in public educational institutions with a primary focus on a chosen government institution being public educational, residential and counseling institution Strokovni center Logatec. The purpose of this work is to delve deeper into the system of fund funneling for the chosen public educational institute and why it is often the case that there are financial shortcomings and what are the consequences of such financial shortages.
The result is achieved by studying the chosen public educational institution, reading literature related to public educational institutions, mostly laws and other acts posted by the public institute itself. The work contains an interview conducted with the principal of the chosen public educational institute. The aim of the interview was to gain a subjective and deeper understanding of theunderlying issues within the financing problem. Within the research, it was concluded, that the public educational institute conducts business in an economic manner abiding by the rules of a good and economically viable, humble business, yet they struggle to end a fiscal year with income exceeding expenses. The reason for that lies in the fact that they simply do not recieve enough funds from the government. Therefore the public education institute has to constantly apply for additional funds, send forms for expense returns, look for donations just to be able to ensure that the activity they were created to fulfill is done uninterrupted. That activity being education.
With that being said, the work warns of troubles that the chosen public education institution and other similar institutions have to face. Described issues’ roots are of financal origin, however they bring other hardships with them. They stress employees in these institutions, the buildings are underequiped and not maintained up to standard and in general the workforce is overburdened and stressed. Additionaly the work enables a basic and fast overview of the financing system for public education institutions, with a primary focus on the chosen public educational, residential and counseling institution Strokovni center Logatec.
