In the 21st century, we are witnessing changes in many areas, one of which is certainly transport sector. Changes in the social and economic spheres have led to greater traffic density, especially in the road sector, which is the most accessible. The increase in traffic density has also negative consequences, which is reflected in the number of traffic accidents.
In my thesis, I researched and presented an analysis of the level of traffic safety in the area Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the introductory part of the assignment are presented basic definitions and theoretical starting points in the field of road safety, which later helped in the research and analysis of traffic safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition to basic knowledge in the field of traffic safety, for successful analysis I had to take into account the economic and national specificities and the state arrangement of Bosnia and Herzegovina. When collecting statistical data, it was necessary to combine published statistics of two entities and a private district.
After the presentation of the statistical data, the final part of the thesis follows, where are presented currently
active projects to improve traffic safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There are also given suggestions for future improvement, which include strengthening legislation, improvement of infrastructure, greater control of vehicles on the road and the introduction of advanced technological solutions.
