Identiteta mesta, ki mora šele nastati : idejna zasnova revitalizacije srednjeveškega mesta Boljun

Zaradi odmaknjenosti od morja in šibkih glavnih cestnih povezav ter velikih mestnih središč je osrednja Istra vsesplošno zapuščena in zanemarjena v primerjavi s področji, ki so bližje obali. To gre v prid ohranjanju zgodovinskih struktur mesta, urbanističnih proporcij, ter splošnemu doživetju kraja, saj je nezanimanje tujih ali domačih investitorjev v tako odročna mesta botrovalo dejstvu, da se je tako ohranilo veliko zgodovinskih danosti. S pričujočo magistrsko nalogo oživljamo stare vrednote v neki novi obliki, oživljamo način življenja naših prednikov, razložimo, kaj je nekoč pomenil boljunski kaštel, ki je še danes središče mesta in kaj je za lokalno prebivalstvo pomenila vera, ter koliko sta ti dve vzporednici vplivali na razvoj mesta.

Abstract

Due to its remoteness from the sea, weak main road connections, as well as large urban centres, central Istria is generally abandoned and neglected compared to areas closer to the coast. This fact is in favor of preserving the historical structures of the city, urban planning, and the general experience of the place, since the lack of interest of foreign or domestic investors in such remote cities has preserved most of the historical values. With the master thesis, old values are being revived in a new form, the way of life of our ancestors is being revived, we are exploring what the Boljun castle, which still is the centre of the city, means in the past, what religion means to them, and how much these two parallels influenced the development of the city to the state we know today.
