Abstract
Temeljni element razvoja in uspešnosti vsake sodobne organizacije, ne glede na to ali se ta ukvarja s proizvodno ali storitveno dejavnostjo, so strokovno izobraženi in usposobljeni kadri. Permanentno učenje je torej proces, ki je dandanes nujen v zdravstvu, saj se stroka neprestano spreminja in razvija, prav tako se spreminjajo metode dela. Posledično so se zaposleni primorani prilagajati novim razmeram in zato vedno potrebujejo nova znanja. Izobraževanje in usposabljanje kadrov je ena izmed številnih nalog kadrovske funkcije. V diplomskem delu nas je zanimalo, kako poteka proces izobraževanja in usposabljanja v izbranem javnem zavodu, kdo je pri njih zadolžen za načrtovanje in izvajanje izobraževanj, katere metode in oblike izobraževanj največkrat uporabljajo, kako pogosta so pri njih usposabljanja in izobraževanja ter kakšno vlogo ima pri procesu usposabljanja mentor. Pomemben del celotnega procesa je motivacija in kaj zaposlene motivira, da se usposabljanj in izobraževanj udeležujejo, ter v kolikšni meri takšna izobraževanja pripomorejo k opravljanju delovnih nalog.

Title:The role of training and education in the work of a nurse – caregiver in public Institution X
Abstract:
A fundamental element of development and success of any modern organisation, whether it is engaged in production or service activities, is a professionally educated and trained personnel. Lifelong learning is therefore a process that is essential in healthcare today, as the profession is constantly changing and evolving and so do the methods of work. As a result, employees are forced to adapt to new situations and are therefore always in need of new knowledge. Education and training of personnel is one of the many tasks of the human resources function. In the thesis we were interested in the process of education and training in the selected public institution, who is responsible for planning and implementing training, which methods and forms of training are most often used, how frequent training and education are in their institution and what role the mentor plays in the training process. Motivation is an important part of the whole process, what motivates employees to participate in training and education and to what extent such training contributes to the performance of their job.
