The objective of this research was to determine how density influences the thermal conductivity of the cellulose fiber panels and which densities of these panels are optimal for insulation. Five panels were made from recycled paper with densities of 30 kg/m3, 50 kg/m3, 70 kg/m3, 150 kg/m3 and 300 kg/m3. The thermal conductivity of the panels was tested at three different average temperatures 10 °C, 25 °C and 40 °C. We have found that the density and average temperature have an effect on the thermal conductivity. The highest thermal insulation was determined at panels with density of 70 kg/m3, while the lowest was determined at panels with density of 300 kg/m3. With average temperature increase the thermal conductivity increases.
