Abstract
Ker predvidevamo, da bo površinsko zgoščen les možno uporabiti za talne obloge, ga bo v ta namen potrebno zaščititi s površinskimi premazi. Zato smo raziskali, kako nekatere tekočine in premazi omakajo površino površinsko zgoščenega lesa, ter kakšen je njihov navzem v površinsko zgoščen les. Kot kontrolno tekočino smo uporabili vodo, testne tekočine in premazi pa so bili olje za površinsko obdelavo lesa, akrilni vodni lak, poliuretanski lak, utekočinjen les in premaz iz utekočinjenega lesa. Najprej smo iz smrekovega lesa pripravili utekočinjen les, nato pa tudi premaz iz utekočinjenega lesa. Stični koti na površinsko zgoščenem lesu so odvisni od vrste premaza in vrste površinsko zgoščenega lesa, prav tako globina penetracije testnih tekočin in premazov. Ugotovili smo, da površino najbolje omaka in vanjo najbolje penetrira utekočinjen les, sledita pa mu premaz iz utekočinjenega lesa ter akrilni vodni lak. Slednja dva sta po našem mnenju tudi najbolj primerna za zaščito površinsko zgoščenega lesa, če bi le-tega uporabili za talne obloge.

Title:Penetration of coatings into surface densified wood : M. Sc. thesis
Abstract:
Surface densified wood could be used for floorings and in such a cases it should be protected with surface coatings. Therefore, we investigated wettability of surface densified wood with some liquids and coatings and their uptake into surface densified substrates. As a control liquid water was applied and the test liquids were oil for surface finishing of wood, acrylic water-borne lacquer, polyurethane coating, liquefied wood and a coating made from liquefied wood. At first, spruce wood was liquefied and then the liquefied wood based coating was prepared. Contact angles on surface densified wood were dependent on ta coating type, and it was the same for penetration of test liquids and coatings. We found out, that the surface densified wood is the best wetted by liquefied wood and by the liquefied wood based surface coating, followed by acrylic water-borne lacquer. The same order was determined also for penetration of liquids and coatings into surface densified wood. The latter two surface coatings are by our opinion the most appropriate for protection of surface densified wood, when used for floorings.
