Abstract

Title:Alcoholism and mimicry
Abstract:
Alcoholism represents an important public health challenge with many negative consequences for the individual, society and the economy. Despite the social acceptance of alcohol consumption, it is important to raise awareness of its harmful effects, which range from physical illness to reduced quality of life and premature death. The high consumption of alcohol per inhabitant in Slovenia and the presence of alcoholism among adults and adolescents further highlight the seriousness of the problem. Alcohol addiction is a complex disease that includes biological and psychological aspects as well as complex behavior of the individual. The stigma associated with alcoholism makes it difficult to seek help and accept the problem. Understanding the concept of mimicry in this context can help identify strategies that individuals use to hide symptoms of illness. It is important to continue efforts to eliminate stigma and build trust and understanding in society. Raising public awareness of the negative consequences of alcoholism and promoting a responsible attitude towards alcohol consumption are crucial. A holistic approach to treating alcoholism includes various treatment options and the support of a therapeutic and social environment. In conclusion, it should be emphasized that accepting individuals with problems due to alcoholism is crucial for their treatment and recovery. Eliminating stigma and creating a supportive environment in society can help individuals seek help and deal effectively with their alcohol addiction.
