The aim of this master's thesis is to investigate the use of meditation and manifestation to increase happiness and improve goal achievement in people who frequently experience stress. In the theoretical introduction of the master's thesis, we introduced the concept of meditation and manifestation, explained the development of said concepts throughout history and described various types of meditation and manifestation. We also defined the concept of satisfaction and happiness and the construct of goals. In the following section, we correlated the use of meditation and manifestation with greater satisfaction and goal achievement and described the use of meditation and manifestation in social work.
In the empirical part of the thesis, we presented an analysis of the individual interviews I conducted with eight individuals, based on qualitative research I carried out on a non- probability ad hoc sample. We found that the understanding of meditation and manifestation varies between individuals. We also determined that meditation and manifestation help people feel better and overcome stress. Moreover, we established that meditation helps our interviewees to cope better with stress, while manifestation offers support and help to achieve their goals.
