Abstract

Title:Analysis and Improvement of Safety and User Experience in a Karting Center
Abstract:
In recent years, indoor karting centres have become very popular due to their accessibility, availability and ease of organising events, regardless of the weather. Indoor karting centres offer an adrenaline experience aimed at most age groups. There are three indoor karting centres in Slovenia. Two offer the experience of petrol- powered go-karts and the third offers electric-powered go-karts. The most modern, technologically advanced and visited indoor karting centre in Slovenia, located in Ljubljana, offers electric-powered vehicles. The thesis focuses on the operation of the indoor karting centre in Ljubljana and the analysis and improvement of safety and user experience. The karting centre has become an important part of the entertainment industry, attracting both children and experienced drivers. The diverse user groups present a challenge as their needs vary from beginners such as children to experienced sports enthusiasts. The modern karting centre uses advanced technologies such as electronic timing systems and user interfaces to enable interaction with drivers and automate processes. The structure of the thesis includes a detailed presentation of the function sets of the karting systems that enable the operation, the analysis of the runs and the integration proposal. Throughout the thesis, the importance of process automation for increased safety and better user experience of indoor karting centres is highlighted. Additional features are also proposed to take preventive action in case of potential adverse events at the track.
