Abstract
Uvod: Komunikacija je del našega vsakdanjega življenja in je ključnega pomena v zdravstvu. Zaradi neuspešne ali neučinkovite komunikacije med pacienti in zdravstvenim osebjem je povečano tveganje za napake in nezadovoljstvo. Pri pacientih z afazijo, ki se zdravijo v enoti za intenzivno terapijo, je neverbalna komunikacija pomembna za razumevanje njihovih čustev in potreb. Za pravilno razumevanje njihovih potreb je odgovorna medicinska sestra, ki s pacientom preživi največ časa. Pomaga si lahko z različnimi komunikacijskimi orodji, s tehnikami in sodobno tehnologijo. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je s pomočjo pregleda literature ugotoviti, katere komunikacijske tehnike medicinskih sester so najbolj učinkovite pri pacientih z afazijo v enoti intenzivne terapije. Metode dela: Za pisanje diplomskega dela je bila uporabljena deskriptivna metoda dela s pregledom strokovne in znanstvene literature v časovnem razponu od leta 2013 dalje. Iskanje je potekalo s pomočjo spletnega portala Digitalne knjižnice v Ljubljani, in sicer v naslednjih podatkovnih bazah: Medline (PubMed), CINAHL with full text, Eric in Scopus. Iskali smo literaturo v angleškem in slovenskem jeziku. Rezultati: S pridobljenimi rezultati in pregledom literature smo ugotovili glavne vzroke in dejavnike, ki vplivajo na neučinkovito komunikacijo v EIT med medicinsko sestro in pacientom z afazijo. Predstavili smo obstoječe pripomočke za lažjo komunikacijo in pripomočke, ki temeljijo na sodobni tehnologiji. Razprava in zaključek: Vključevanje pripomočkov, ki temeljijo na sodobni tehnologiji, pripomore k učinkovitejši in preprostejši komunikaciji s pacienti z afazijo. Pomembno je izobraževanje in informiranost o dejavnikih neučinkovite komunikacije in o različnih možnih pripomočkih za učinkovitejšo komunikacijo s pacienti z afazijo. To je ključnega pomena predvsem za medicinske sestre, smiselno pa se nam zdi o tem izobraževati tudi druge člane interdisciplinarnega tima ter predvsem pacientove svojce.

Title:Non verbal communication between nurse and aphasic patients in intensive therapy : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Communication is part of our daily lives and a key element in healthcare. Because of failed or ineffective communication between patients and helthcare workers the risk of errors and dissatisfaction increases. Non-verbal communication is important for understanding the emotions and needs of patients with aphasia treated in intensive care unit. It is the nurse who spends the most time with the patient and who si responsible for understanding their needs correctly. She can help herself with variety of communication tools and tehniques and modern technology. Purpose: The purpose of this diploma is to determine which nurses communication techniques are most effective for patients with aphasia in the intensive care unit by means of a literature review. Methods: The descriptive method was used to write the diploma, reviewing professional and scientific litterature in the time frame from 2013 onward. The search was conducted using the Ljubljana Digital Library web portal and databases Medline (PubMed), CINAHL with full text, Eric and Scopus. Literature is in English and Slovenian language. Results: With the literature review and collected results we identifyed the main causes and factors influencing communication between nurse and patient with aphasia in ICU. We presented existing aids to facilitate communication and aids based on modern technology. Discussion and conclusion: Incorporating modern technology based tools helps aphasia patients communicate more effectively and easily. Education and information about the factors of ineffective communication and devices is important, especially for nurses, other members of the interdisiplinary team and the patients family.
