Abstract

Title:Coupling hydrodynamic cavitation and plasma to increase the efficiency of degradation of micro-pollutants
Abstract:
Due to increasing pollution of surface waters with various micro-pollutants, the search for advanced technologies for wastewater treatment is crucial. Some technologies, such as cavitation, are already gaining attention in this field. However, the desire to achieve better synergistic effects with less energy consumption remains the driving force behind the search for new technologies and the integration of existing ones. The aim of this thesis was to synergistically combine hydrodynamic cavitation with gaseous plasma to improve the degradation of micro-pollutants in wastewater. We managed to combine both technologies into a functional system, through experiments using dye, demonstrating increased degradation of micro-pollutants under combined plasma and cavitation conditions compared to conditions without plasma.
