Abstract
Zato sem v teoretičnem delu opisala koncepte in oblike socialne opore, natančneje instrumentalno oporo, emocionalno oporo in informacijsko oporo ter omrežja socialne opore mladih.

Title:Social support for young people looking for their first employment
Abstract:
In my dissertation entitled "Social support for young people looking for their first job"," I investigated who young people turn to when they are afraid of unemployment and who offers them social support. In the theoretical part, I therefore described the concepts of social support and the forms of social support, in particular instrumental support, emotional support and informational support, as well as the networks of social support for young people. I also defined the terms youth employment and youth unemployment, focusing on the competitive advantages and disadvantages of the young labour force, trends in youth employment and unemployment, and the causes and consequences of youth unemployment. The theoretical framework was supported by empirical findings or results of semi-structured interviews with employed young people. I found that young people seek information about employment, hiring companies and employers' requirements. They acquire information through various means, notably the internet and other informational sources, as well as personal contacts. In their job search, they often receive assistance from acquaintances and expand their network of contacts, which they do with the help of friends, family members, acquaintances, former colleagues, classmates, professors, individuals in internships, industry professionals, and association members. In their job search, they encounter various positive and negative emotions, while the support for negative emotions comes from family, friends, classmates, colleagues, association members, and other professionals in the field. Financial income received during their studies included scholarships, allowances, work through student associations, and family support.
