Abstract

Title:˝Revitalization of Brbinj˝ Conceptual design of the dispersed center of Well- being in Brbinj, Dugi otok
Abstract:
The island is a refuge from the everyday hustle and bustle, where you remember the importance of slowing down and enjoying the little things that we often overlook in our fast everyday life. The island connects us with nature and with ourselves, providing a boost from the stress of modern life and the restoration of inner peace and energy. Despite this, the islands face challenges such as poor connectivity with the mainland, high costs in the short tourist season. The population of the Croatian islands faces the challenge of aging, which is a consequence of many years of emigration, especially of young people of working age. Lack of job opportunities, especially for young people, who are forced to permanently leave the island in search of better opportunities for employment and life. The island way of life is often slower and characterized by nature, the sea and traditional values. How you could create a special quality of life for visitors and visitors. In winter, many tourists leave the island and the places become empty. This period can be challenging if social life takes hold and access to certain services becomes limited. The purpose of the master’s thesis is to recognize the quality of the space and to enrich the existing fabric with a new, permanent and active offer that would attract visitors throughout the summer, including the winter months. The new program aims to stimulate the sustainable development of the island, increase the number of inhabitants and create new jobs. The program also aims to promote the island and the way of life on the island as an attractive destination for living and visiting. In the main part, I approach from an urban planning point of view and after analyzing the space, I identify key locations. Together, these locations will create a whole that will improve the quality of life on the island.
