Stress can be experienced by people in everyday life in organizations, it is also related to the motivation of employees. The purpose of the thesis was to investigate the presence of stress among employees in the Municipality of Celje and to determine whether there is a connection between stress and employee motivation for work. We also wanted to find out what the stress factors are and what impact they have on employees. The research was conducted by surveying. The most important finding is that there is no connection between motivation and stress among employees in the Municipality of Celje. In the research, it was established that there is no excessive presence of stress among the employees of the Municipality of Celje. Internal motivation was more pronounced. It is necessary to assign tasks that please and interest employees. It is also necessary to establish trust between employees and superiors, provide work tasks where the opportunity for employees to express themselves will be highlighted, offer opportunities for improving knowledge and skills, and motivate them accordingly with clearly set goals, , recognition of the best and open communication. In order to reduce stress, it is necessary to eliminate conflicts between employees and to regulate working hours, and to offer them opportunities for education on managing stress in the workplace.
