The article deals with some of the more obvious signs of the increasingly frequent adopting of foreign professional expressions in the language of metallurgy. One of the more obvious reasons for this is the ever more rapid technological development or the demand for ever better and newer products. Onthe basis of an analysis of the journal Livarski vestnik published by the Slovene Foundrymen Society, we tried to identify the characteristics of the relation between the speed of change and the professional language. In analyzing the articles, we noticed five clear cases of non-uniformity or inconsistencies in the professional language of metallurgy or foundry work, visible mostly in the use of different morphological and spelling forms of the same lexemes.
