Abstract
Uvod: Uhelj je sestavni del zunanjega ušesa, pri katerem se lahko pojavijo določene estetske razlike. Le-te so lahko prirojene ali nastanejo zaradi bolezni, travm. Poznamo različne deformacije uhlja, kot so npr. mikrotija, kriptotija, poliotija, ki jih obravnavamo operativno ali z uporabo proteze. Tako se uporabniku izboljša kakovost življenja. Na trgu že obstajajo različne metode za izdelavo aurikularnih protez, vendar te, predvsem zaradi cene, niso dostopne vsakomur. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je bil izdelati nizkocenovno aurikularno protezo doma. Metode dela: Diplomsko delo temelji na pregledu strokovne in znanstvene literature, pri čemer smo za iskanje uporabili podatkovne baze PubMed, Google Učenjak in Web of Science. Ključne besede za iskanje literature so bile: materiali, aurikularna proteza, aurikula, pina, obrazne proteze. Drugi del je bil praktičen. Opisali smo postopek izdelave aurikularne proteze, pri čemer smo uporabili pripomočke in materiale, ki jih lahko najdemo doma. Izdelali smo aurikularno protezo iz gobice za pomivanje posode in aurikularno protezo iz gobe za aranžiranje suhega cvetja. Rezultati: Ob pregledu literature smo ugotovili, da danes že obstajajo enostavne metode za izdelavo aurikularnih protez, vendar predvsem zaradi svoje cene niso dostopne vsem uporabnikom. Zato smo izdelali dve nizkocenovni protezi doma. Razprava in zaključek: Izdelava aurikularnih protez doma lahko predstavlja težave zaradi nenatančnosti in neustreznih pripomočkov, hkrati pa daje vsakemu uporabniku možnost, da si jo lahko izdela sam in jo nato tudi uporablja. Pri izdelavi si lahko pomaga z različnimi pripomočki, najprimernejši so majhni in ostri pripomočki (npr. noži, manjše škarje ipd.). Pri tem je pomembna izbira materialov, saj nekatere lažje oblikujemo, druge težje. Vse lastnosti tako vplivajo na končni videz izdelka, za katerega želimo, da je videti kar se da naravno. V prihodnje bi bilo smiselno izdelati aurikularne proteze še iz drugih materialov, da bi tako lažje primerjali izdelke in ugotovili, katera kombinacija materialov in pripomočkov je optimalna.

Title:Manufacture of low-cost auricular prosthesis at home : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: The outer ear is an essential component where various aesthetic differences may arise. Numerous ear deformities, such as microtia, cryptotia, and poliotia, are typically treated through surgery or prosthetic solutions, significantly enhancing the user's quality of life. While several methods for producing auricular prostheses exist, accessibility remains a challenge for many due to cost constraints. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work was to produce a cost-effective homemade auricular prosthesis. Methods: The diploma work involved a comprehensive review of professional and scientific literature using Pubmed, Google Scholar and Web of Science databases. The keywords used for literature search were: materials, auricular prosthesis, auricula, pina, facial prosthesis. The second part was practical. The creation process of the auricular prosthesis is described, using readily available household materials and accessories and materials such as dishwashing sponges and floral foam boxes. Results: Literature review revealed existing simple methods for auricular prosthesis production, albeit inaccessible to many due to cost barriers. Consequently, two homemade, low-cost prostheses were developed. Discussion and conclusion: The production of homemade auricular prostheses can present challenges related to precision and tool suitability. However, it empowers individuals to create and utilize their own prostheses. Utilizing small and sharp tools (e.g. knives, smaller scissors, etc.) is recommended for optimal results. Material selection is crucial, as it influences ease of shaping and final appearance. Exploring alternative materials in future manufacturing process of auricular prostheses can facilitate easier comparison and determine the optimal combination of materials and devices.
