Abstract
Diplomsko delo analizira vpliv povečanja kapacitete hranilnikov toplote na obratovalno karakteristiko srednje velike mestne toplarne za ogrevanje nekaj več kot 4000 gospodinjstev. V začetnem delu so podane teoretične osnove postrojenj za soproizvodnjo toplote in električne energije ter vrste kogeneracijskih naprav. V nadaljevanju je obravnavana teorija hranilnikov kalorične energije. Sledijo opis kogeneracijskih naprav v obravnavani mestni toplarni in značilnosti kogeneracijske proizvodnje toplote in električne energije. V osrednjem delu diplomskega dela sta izračun in analiza obratovanja s povečano kapaciteto hranilnikov toplote. V izračunu so bili uporabljeni realni obratovalni podatki o urnih odjemih toplote v ogrevalni sezoni, proizvodnji električne energije in o temperaturah v hranilnikih toplote.

Title:The impact of thermal energy storage on the economy and energy efficiency of the heating plant
Abstract:
The thesis analyzes the impact of increased capacity of thermal energy storage on the operating characteristics of a medium sized heating plant for heating approximately four thousand households. In the initial part, the theoretical basis of cogeneration of heat and electricity and types of cogenerations are given. Afterward, the theory of caloric energy storage is discussed. A description of the cogeneration devices in the studied city heating plant and the characteristics of combined production of heat and electricity is presented next. In the main part of the thesis, the calculation and analysis of operation with increased capacity of thermal energy storage is conducted. Real operating data with hourly consumption of heat, electricity production and temperatures in the thermal energy storage tanks were used for the calculations.
