The master's thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the first, theoretical part, I
contemplate the integration of literary and visual arts in general. Then I analyze examples in
which visual artists reference literary works in various ways. Based on these examples, I
examine the artistic approaches they employ in their depictions and interpretations, drawing
on insights from art theory. The aim of the theoretical part is to identify similarities in
interpretive methods and summarize them as theoretical insights into approaches and
methodologies of interpretation. I pay particular attention to examples of interpreting
Slovenian poetry, as I later focus on it in the planning and practical part of the assignment. In
the practical part, I first explain the decision for the selection of the poem Črni deček by Dane
Zajc and the choice of ceramic material. Then I translate the poem into visual language
through preliminary analysis and the method of identifying key events and emotional states in
poem. The final outcome of the planning and practical part consists of two ceramic pieces, the
spatial installation Nove ptice (New Birds) and the relief Sive ujede (Gray Predators). Finally,
I analyze and provide a justification for these artworks through analysis.
