Abstract
Prevelika količina treningov in njihova nepravilna razporeditev, nepravilna tehnika gibanja, slaba telesna pripravljenost in preobremenitve v plesu so pogosti vzroki za nastanek poškodb.

Title:Forming a preventive training program for jazz dancers
Abstract:
Dancing is a physically demanding activity combining movement patterns that form a choreography. Dance movements represent a physical burden for the dancers performing them and differ from one dance style to another. Jazz dance is a lively dance genre with a versatile movement dynamic. The choreography is a blend of tenderly mellow, explosive, or conservatively floating movements, which the dancer combines to create a masterful blend. Dynamic movements involve jumps and turns, while elegant dance movements focus on the expression of grace and softness. Too many training sessions, incorrect technique, poor physical fitness, and overburdening are a common cause of injury in dance. The foot, knee, hip and back are those body parts that carry most of the burden in jazz dance and, consequently, the most common places of injury. Preventive training programs help reduce the risk of injury, increase physical fitness, and introduce a safer execution of dance movements. Preventive training programs for jazz dancers include exercises for strength, balance, and coordination, and focus on strengthening muscles of body parts that are most commonly injured. By combining preventive training programs for other dance styles with modifications for jazz dancers, we could increase motor function and morphological characteristics, and reduce injury. A modified preventive training program that considers the specific burdens the jazz dancers face, helps reduce the risk of injury and increase motor skills, and could be tested in the future on a group of jazz dancers.
