Abstract

Title:
Green community on Vič in Ljubljana
Abstract:
Master’s thesis offers insights into the diversity and innovations of green micro-arrangements in the urban environment, highlighting their crucial role in shaping sustainable and interconnected cities. The exploration in this field began with the pioneer of contemporary greenery, Patrick Blanc, and continues with futuristic projects like Bosco Verticale. The focus extends to indoor ecosystems and their impact, encompassing emerging concepts such as biofilters and hydroponic systems on interior walls. Particular attention is given to the concept of community and shared spaces within buildings in connection with urban gardening. The thesis delves into how green areas can serve as focal points for meeting and connecting residents in urban environments. Additionally, it examines the role of green balconies, functioning as micro-arrangements at the individual building level while contributing to the overall green character of urban space. In the master’s thesis, the aim is to elucidate the impact of green micro-arrangements on the urban environment, emphasizing the connection with nature and sustainable urban planning practices. The intention is to provide a foundation for further research and encourage discussions on how green micro-arrangements can become a key element in shaping the cities of the future
