Abstract
Uvod: Čuječnost pomeni zavedanje lastnih občutkov v danem trenutku in odprto sprejemanje občutenja. Izvajanje čuječnosti na različne načine ima mnoge pozitivne učinke na telesno in duševno zdravje. Uporablja se kot oblika zdravljenja v medicini, med drugim tudi v delovni terapiji. V delovni terapiji jo lahko uporabljamo na formalne in neformalne načine. Formalni načini se izvajajo v obliki sestavljenih programov, neformalni pa v obliki meditacije, joge in izvajanja čuječnosti med vsakdanjimi dejavnostmi. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je bil ugotoviti, ali slovenski delovni terapevti čuječnost poznajo ter na katerih področjih in na kakšne načine jo uporabljajo v praksi. Namen je bil tudi raziskati povezavo med področjem dela, časom opravljanja poklica ter poznavanjem in uporabo čuječnosti. Metode dela: Za pridobitev podatkov smo uporabili spletni anketni vprašalnik, na katerega so odgovarjali slovenski delovni terapevti. Anketni vprašalnik je na začetku vseboval dve demografski vprašanji, nato pa je bil razdeljen na dva dela, in sicer na vprašanja glede poznavanja in uporabe čuječnosti v praksi. Rezultati: Anketo je rešilo 88 slovenskih delovnih terapevtov. Ugotovili smo, da čuječnost poznajo in da so zanjo že slišali, vendar mnogi niso prepričani v svoje razumevanje pomena le te. Glede poznavanja pomena čuječnosti so najbolj prepričani anketirani terapevti, ki delujejo na področju duševnega zdravja. Večina anketiranih med svojimi obravnavami ne uporablja čuječnosti. Najpogosteje se uporablja na področju duševnega zdravja. Najmanj čuječnost v sklopu svojih obravnav uporabljajo anketirani terapevti, ki delujejo na nevrološkem področju, področju delovne terapije v socialnih zavodih ter področju delovne terapije za otroke in mladostnike. Najbolj pogost način uporabe je neformalen pred in med izvajanjem aktivnosti. Razprava in zaključek: Čuječnost je kljub svoji uporabnosti in pomembnosti pri obravnavi pacientov med anketiranimi delovnimi terapevti malo uporabljena. Nejasno poznavanje pomena čuječnosti in pomanjkanje izobraževanja na tem področju je lahko vzrok za njeno neuporabo v praksi. Delovnim terapevtom bi bilo smiselno ponuditi možnost izobraževanja na tem področju, saj bi lahko to prineslo dodano vrednost delovnoterapevtskim obravnavam.

Title:The recognition and the use of mindfulness in occupational therapy in Slovenia : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Mindfulness means being aware of your own feelings in the present moment and openly accepting them as they are. Practicing mindfulness has many positive effects on physical and mental health. In medicine, mindfulness is used as a way of treatment. In occupational therapy it is used to treat patients in formal (constructed programs) and nonformal ways (meditation, yoga, practising mindfulness during daily activities). Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the recognition and use of mindfulness in occupational therapy in Slovenia. We also wanted to explore in which domains mindfulness is used in occupational therapy and the ways in which occupational therapist in Slovenia use mindfulness within their treatment. We also wanted to explore the relationship between the domains of practice, time of working as an occupational therapist, use and recognition of mindfulness. Methods: We used an internet questionnaire, which was sent to occupational therapists in Slovenia. The questionnaire consisted of two demographic questions, questions about recognition and use of mindfulness in occupational therapy. Results: 88 Slovenian occupational therapists have taken part in our study. Results have showed that Slovenian occupational therapists have heard of mindfulness, but the meaning of it is not well known. Occupational therapist in the mental health domain are the surest they know the meaning of mindfulness. Most of the participants in our study do not use mindfulness in therapy. It is most used in the mental health domain of occupational therapy. The participants that do use mindfulness in therapy, use it in nonformal ways, before and during activities. Discussion and conclusion: Although mindfulness is useful and important at treating patients it is poorly used by the occupational therapists that participated in this study. Not knowing the correct definition, meaning of mindfulness and the lack of education on this topic could be the reason for not using it in therapy. We would recommend giving Slovenian occupational therapists educational courses on mindfulness, as that could give more added value to therapy.
