Abstract

Title:Analysis of youth interest in remote e-voting in Slovenia
Abstract:
The thesis addresses the current issue of low voter participation and explores the potential of implementation of remote electronic voting as an alternative to solving this problem. The research focuses on the youngest age group, individuals between the ages of 18 and 29. To investigate the interest of young people in remote electronic voting in Slovenia, a questionnaire was used, while the theoretical framework was supported by the analysis of academic sources, such as professional articles, reports, scientific papers, etc. The main findings of the survey show a positive attitude among young people towards online voting. Most are attracted to it because of its independence from time and place. However, regarding the level of confidence in the security of the online voting system, opinions are more diverse, but most would trust such a system. Overall, the research indicates, that the interest in remote electronic voting is high according to the analyzed data. The survey contributes to understanding young people's interest in remote electronic elections and understanding their attitude towards this type of voting. It also provides an insight into the current situation and trends in remote electronic elections in Slovenia. The results can serve as a basis for further research as well as for measures to encourage turnout among young people.
