Individuals in contemporary society face changes that are affecting all spheres of life. There has been a shift in the private and public domains, and as actors in society, we are faced with different choices in life, the consequences of which we bear alone. Many transitions intertwine with each other and are no longer based on linearity. Nowadays, youth is even more receptive to changes; there is a decision to extend education, and one of the reasons lies in the uncertain labour market. Changes in the private sphere are not far behind those in the public sphere, as a transformation has occurred in the family sphere. Nevertheless, the youth still highly value family, even though the choice for family is moving more and more into adulthood. Using quantitative research, the aim was to determine whether there are differences in values among different age groups of youth between 18 and 30 years of age and if certain groups have a more optimistic view about the future regarding the labour market. The purpose was to investigate whether there are any concerns among youth regarding adulthood and what their expectations about family life are. The results showed that the youngest group is more optimistic about their future in the labour market, while all categories of young people are concerned about housing issues. Young people mostly remain consistent in their values; most of them rank family and health as the most important.
