Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava problematiko pomanjkanja in dostopnosti do celostne paliativne oskrbe v Sloveniji.

Title:Conceptual design of the palliative care center in Ljutomer
Abstract:
The master's thesis addresses the issue of the lack of and accessibility to comprehensive palliative care in Slovenia. Considering Slovenia's demographic profile and the increasing number of life-threatening diseases, the demand for palliative care is continually growing. Currently, there is only one Hospice House in Slovenia, located in Ljubljana, providing care for 16 residents. For the successful coverage of palliative care in Slovenia, it is necessary to establish a system of dispersed palliative centers across the entire country in all regions, as defined by the National Plan for Palliative Care from 2010. This dispersed system also enables care in the patient's home, being accessible to the patient and their close ones in all stages of the disease, positively influencing well-being and acceptance of the illness. Through the urban strategy of the town of Ljutomer, I will redevelop a degraded area, establishing a new connection between the city center and the city park. The implementation of a palliative care program, still considered a taboo topic in society, actively contributes to destigmatizing palliative care and death, increasing public acceptance of the program, and actively promoting awareness of palliative care in social life.
