Abstract
Objekt programsko dopolnjuje že obstoječi program na lokaciji in ponuja holističen pristop do zdravja in dobrega počutja psov. V teoretičnem delu naloge so obravnavane teme o čutenju psa, zaznavanju okolja in prostora. Obiski teh institucij dajo vpogled v delovanje posameznega programa, hkrati sogovorniki podajo nasvete, usmeritve in izkušnje glede dela z živalmi, njihovega okolja in prostora, v katerem bivajo. V nalogi so izpostavljeni in ovrednoteni tudi referenčni primeri. Na tej osnovi so določene okvirne dimenzije posameznih programov in prostorov, namenjenih bivanju, učenju in rehabilitaciji psa.

Title:Hang on, Doggy - Conceptual design of a Learning and Rehabilitation center with a Hotel for dogs In Ljubljana.
Abstract:
The relationship between humans and animals, more specifically between a dog and its owner, and the impact they have on each other, has inspired the reflection on how to design a suitable living environment for a dog. Just as the environment affects us in various ways, it also affects animals.Due to the lack of safe and suitable architecture for animals, an educational-rehabilitation center with a hotel for dogs has been proposed. With its placement in the area of veterinary clinics and educational institutions in Mestni Log, it offers a model for further planning of facilities intended for animals. The facility complements the existing program at the location and uses a holistic approach to the health and well-being of dogs.In the theoretical part, topics relative to dog’s sensation, perception of the environment, and space are discussed. A review of existing programs in Slovenia has shown that Slovenia lacks quality-designed architecture for animals. Also discussed are some examples of dog hotels, the Ljubljana Cynological Society, and Dogs4motion. The visits to these facilities provide insight into the programs that are carried out by institutions. Additionally, the interviewees share advice, guidelines, and experiences regarding their work with animals, the environment, and the space, in which they live. Some reference examples are also highlighted and evaluated. Based on the collected data, the framework dimensions of individual programs and spaces intended for living, learning, and rehabilitation of dogs are determined. Based on the findings, the concept of an educational-rehabilitation center with a hotel for dogs is determined. The thesis serves as a model for planning of architecture in which animals, as well as humans, share space.
