Abstract
Diplomsko delo obravnava zatemnjevanje sodobnih svetlobnih virov, zlasti LED sijalk. Raziskane so različne metode in tehnologije za prilagajanje svetlobe potrebam uporabnika. Analizirani so obnašanje in potrebe sijalk, vključno z njihovimi gonilniki. Zasnovana in izdelana sta dva različna tipa zatemnilnikov: fazni, ki omogoča sprednje- in zadnje-robno zatemnjevanje raznih sijalk, in PWM LED, ki omogoča prilagodljivo zatemnjevanje LED trakov. Posamezni sklopi obeh zatemnilnikov so podrobno razloženi in programsko simulirani. Za oba zatemnilnika so izdelane sheme in tiskana vezja. Izdelan je program s preprostim vmesnikom za preizkus delovanja. Izvedene so meritve izhodnih signalov z osciloskopom, ki preverijo uspešnost delovanja zatemnilnikov v realnih pogojih, in toplotne meritve, ki preverijo njuno termalno zmogljivost.

Title:Dimming of Modern Lighting Devices
Abstract:
The thesis addresses the dimming of modern light sources, particularly LED bulbs. Various methods and technologies for adjusting light to user needs are explored. The behavior and requirements of bulbs, including their drivers, are analyzed. Two different types of dimmers are designed and constructed: a phase dimmer, which enables both leading-edge and trailing-edge dimming of various bulbs, and a PWM LED dimmer, allowing flexible dimming of LED strips. The individual components of both dimmers are thoroughly explained and programmatically simulated. Schematics and printed circuit boards are created for both dimmers. A program with a user-friendly interface for testing purposes is developed. Measurements of output signals using an oscilloscope are conducted to verify the dimmers' performance under real-world conditions, along with thermal measurements to assess their thermal capability.
