Abstract
Analiza variabilnosti srčnega ritma (angl. Heart rate variability – HRV) podaja informacijo o delovanju avtonomnega živčnega sistema na srce in o stanju ter delovanju srca. Raziskali smo, če in kako določen notranji poseg na srcu prašičev v eksperimentalnih pogojih vpliva na HRV. Uporabili smo signale, ki so jih pridobili v okviru raziskovalne študije za druge namene. S programskimi orodji smo posnetke signalov elektrokardiograma pretvorili v posnetke intervalov RR (intervalov med sosednjimi utripi) in na njih izračunali različne parametre HRV. Vrednosti izračunanih parametrov HRV pred in po dovajanju terapije na srce smo ovrednotili s statističnimi metodami. Pri ugotavljanju statistične pomembnosti razlik smo uporabili različne statistične teste. Ni nam uspelo pokazati, da bi dovajanje uporabljene terapije na srce pujsov kakor koli vplivalo na njihov HRV. Pujsi so bili pod vplivom anestezije, za kar vemo, da močno zmanjša izhodiščno HRV in posledično tudi vrednosti parametrov HRV, kar je močno otežilo iskanje morebitnih naknadnih sprememb pri analizi HRV.

Title:Changes in heart rate variability after treatment of the heart in experimental animals
Abstract:
Heart rate variability (HRV) can provide useful information about the autonomic nervous control of the heart and about the state and functioning of the heart. We investigated if and to what extent the HRV changes after certain treatment in pigs in experimental conditions. The signals used in this work were obtained for other purposes in another research study. We developed software tools to convert the electrocardiogram signals into auxiliary signals of the so-called RR intervals (the intervals between successive heartbeats) and calculated various HRV parameters based on these signals. We quantified HRV parameters before and after the treatment with statistical methods. Various statistical tests were used to determine statistical significance of the differences. We could not find any significant changes in HRV parameters as a result of the treatment. The pigs were under the influence of anesthesia, which is well known to greatly reduce the baseline HRV, which makes the search for potential changes in HRV parameters after an intervention very difficult.
