Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava vlogo prevajalca v procesu uprizarjanja tujih dramskih besedil na slovenskih odrih. Raziskava sloni na študiji primera drame Trije milijoni minut, ki je nastala na podlagi španskega filmskega scenarija 7 años Joséja Cabeze in je bila uprizorjena v Mestnem gledališču ljubljanskem. Besedilo je bilo integralno prevedeno iz španščine v slovenščino, nato pa je doživelo priredbo izpod peresa režiserke. Izvedeni so bili intervjuji z avtorjem in prevajalcem besedila ter člani uprizoritvene ekipe, ki so pokazali, da je sodelovanje med dramskimi prevajalci in gledališkimi ustvarjalci povečini pozitivno, vendar slednjim primanjkuje ozaveščenost glede prevajalskega dela. Področje prevajanja dramskih besedil zahteva interdisciplinarni pristop, ki bi združil zorni kot tako prevodoslovcev kot gledališčnikov.

Title:Translation and Adaptation of Theatre Texts - A study of the Slovene Translation of 7 Years by José Cabeza
Abstract:
This Master thesis discusses the translator’s role in the process of staging foreign theatre texts in Slovene theatres. It is based on a case study, namely the staging of Trije milijoni minut, a play based on the Slovene Translation of the Spanish film script 7 Years by José Cabeza, in the Mestno gledališče ljubljansko theatre. The translated version of this Spanish text underwent an adaptation carried out by the theatre director. Interviews conducted with the author and the translator of the text as well as some members of the theatre production team showed collaboration between theatre translators and theatre professionals to be mostly positive. However, some improvements could be achieved by using an interdisciplinary approach which would join the perspectives of both translation and theatre professionals and make the latter more aware of translation issues.
