Waste sludge dryers can offer great potential for improved cost-efficiency of individual central drying facilities. In Slovenia, the provider for these devices is Energo Optima d.o.o., where they decided to manufacture a mobile test drying unit on a car trailer. They want to demonstrate to the central drying facilities throughout Slovenia the purpose of additional drying units that would reduce the costs of transportation of waste sludge. In the thesis, we focused on the air preparation for drying waste sludge. We analyzed the airflow in the dryer and the air drying system, and determined the required power for the operation of the air preparation system. We also identified the necessary energy needed by the heat pump to meet the requirements of the air preparation system.
