In my master thesis I researched the accessibility of services and digital technologies for the elderly in the municipality of Kamnik. I was interested in what challenges old people face when using digital technology and what support they receive from the neighbourhood and the municipality of Kamnik. Social work plays an important role in ensuring social justice. It is important that all people have equal opportunities and access to resources. That is why I focused on the user perspective in my master thesis, because the voice and involvement of old people in the digitisation process is crucial. This will make digital services more accessible and user-friendly for old people. In the theoretical part, I outline the already known challenges and guidelines for promoting the digital inclusion of older people. In the empirical part, I present the results of my research, which I obtained by analysing interviews with eight people over 65 living in the municipality of Kamnik. The results of the qualitative research show that currently basic services such as banking, health care and public administration are accessible to old people in the municipality of Kamnik, as they allow other forms of arranging services in addition to the use of digital services. The biggest problem for old people is the lack of use of the online bank. They cannot pay online without opening an online bank, as banks require identification and the ability to pay on delivery is shrinking. Old people experienced great frustration when downloading the ePersonal and Zvem applications. They described the process as time-consuming, user- unfriendly with a lack of clear instructions and guidance. Lidl was highlighted as an example of digital discrimination, as currently old people who do not have the LIDL+ app are not in the same position as other customers and do not receive the same discounts. They highlighted the ordering of medicines via the ZD Kamnik website as an example of good practice in digitizing services for the elderly. Older people in Kamnik face challenges in their daily lives, such as lack of information, poor understanding of a foreign language, dependence on help from others, and difficulty adapting to change. They are also challenged by the irregular use of digital technology and by psychophysical factors such as vision and memory problems and ageing. Older people receive support and help from their environment in the form of peer support, intergenerational support and support from family members. Older people in Kamnik would like to see greater promotion of existing services, a transformation of the way computer courses are delivered and their permanence in the municipality, greater involvement of the state in regulating the production of applications and digital processes, greater involvement of the profession and dialogue with older people. In order to ensure the digital inclusion of old people in the municipality of Kamnik, it is important to have the participation of different stakeholders who are involved in any way with old people. Based on the results obtained in the survey, I conclude that old people in the municipality of Kamnik lack digital skills and in some cases need help and support from a third party to access services. The municipality of Kamnik can play an important role here, as it already offers some forms of support and assistance to the elderly, such as computer courses, a counselling office for the elderly and a free WIFI point. However, the survey found that these services do not reach a wide enough range of older people in the municipality, so more attention should be paid in the future to promoting of existing forms of support in the local newspaper Kamniški občan, which reaches the largest number of older people and non-users of the internet. The municipality of Kamnik should get involved in various projects to promote digital inclusion of old people living in rural areas, as computer courses organised in the centre of Kamnik are less accessible to them.
